Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago L. Sta. Romana, accompanied by Minister and Consul General Dinno G. Oblena and First Secretary and Consul Winston Dean S. Almeda visited Sinovac’s facility at Beijing’s Daxing district on 22 March 2021 to help facilitate the delivery to the Philippines of the 2nd and final batch of the Chinese government’s donation to the country of the company’s COVID-19 vaccines.

Ambassador Sta. Romana completed an internal company procedure of the Chinese vaccine manufacturer, which would pave the way for the transportation of a total of 400,000 doses to the Philippines. The Ambassador and the rest of the team were provided access to the temperature-controlled warehouse where the vaccines destined for the Philippines were stored.

They also witnessed the loading of the first few pallets onto trucks that would transport the vaccines to the Beijing Capital International Airport. A Philippine Airlines (PAL) aircraft has been chartered by the Philippine government to undertake the vaccines’ transport to Manila later in the week. END
