BEIJING, CHINA – On 12 August 2020, the Philippines Embassy in Beijing, in cooperation with the Philippine Consulates General in Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xiamen, as well as with Philippine Airlines, facilitated the repatriation of 65 Filipino nationals via flight PR 315 traveling from Tianjin City to Manila.

Repatriates were composed of students, overseas Filipinos, and former detainees who have long been waiting for a flight back to Manila and have not been able to come home due to scarcity of flights and existing travel restrictions between the Philippines and China as the COVID-19 pandemic persists.

The Philippine Embassy sent a team to Tianjin City to assist in the repatriation of the Filipinos as they were coming from various provinces. The Embassy also arranged a bus that ferried Filipinos from Beijing to Tianjin. END
