27 November 2017 - The Philippine Embassy in Beijing welcomed on 24 November 2017 a group of university students participating the 2nd China-ASEAN Youth Summit.

The visit was organized by the Southeast Asian Society of Peking University.

During their visit, the participants briefly toured the Embassy and learned more about Philippine textiles through the "Honed In Tradition: Philippine Weaves" exhibit.

The Embassy's Second Secretary Ms. Helen Anne S. Gan delivered a brief presentation on basic facts about the Philippines including tourist attractions, food and festivals.

For refreshments, the Embassy served palabok and ginataang bilo-bilo to the students. 

Earlier on the same day, at the opening ceremony held at the Peking University, Ambassador Jose Santiago L. Sta. Romana delivered a speech on ASEAN and ASEAN-China relations before the students.

The China-ASEAN Youth Summit provided an opportunity for students from China, ASEAN and other countries to enhance mutual understanding and foster stronger bonds through academic debates and cultural exchange activities. 

Through the visits to the different ASEAN Embassies, students learned about the various culture of the ASEAN countries. END.
