30 March 2017 BEIJING — Philippine Embassy representatives welcomed a group of "Chinese Young Cultural Ambassadors" under its program "Ni Hao, Philippines" on March 23.
The National China Young Cultural Ambassadors Committee organized the visit of the "Chinese Young Cultural Ambassadors". Sponsored by the Chinese Society of Education, the Committee brought together students from various primary and secondary schools to visit the embassy to learn about the Philippines, and its fiestas and festivals.
Philippine Embassy Cultural Officer Joan Pichay and Translator Wang Yaoxue made a brief presentation and introduced the students to the MasskaraFestival of Bacolod and were shown Masskara masks. They were also given an opportunity to design their own masks using plain mask templates, coloring and craft materials. They were also treated to Filipino hot cocoa drinks and cookies during the activity.
“Ni Hao, Philippines” is organized by the Embassy to create awareness of Philippine culture among children aged seven to 12 years old. The Embassy has been receiving groups of "Chinese Young Cultural Ambassadors" since 2015. END
