PHILIPINE EMBASSY IN BEIJING ATTENDS THE "CREATIVE CHAOYANG-PEKING OPERA CLASSICS SPECIAL FOR FOREIGN DIPLOMATS"

 

27 June 2016 – Representatives of the Philippine Embassy in Beijing attended the "Creative Chaoyang - Peking Opera Classics Special for Foreign Diplomats" hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality on 24 June 2016 at the Center for Peking Opera Culture and Art of Chaoyang.

The programme showed excerpts of three (3) Peking Operas namely, "Autumn River," starred by Zhu Hong and Liang Junwei, "The Heavenly Maid Scatters Blossoms," featuring Chen Zhangxia, and "Monkey King Fights Against 18 Warriors," whose main star was Zhan Lei.

Renowned as the National Opera" and "National Treasure", Peking Opera is the most representative and influential form of opera in China.

The Peking Opera show was attended by diplomats from the Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Israel, Singapore, Malawi, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Poland, Syria and Thailand. END.
