Philippine Embassy in Beijing and Consulate General in Guangzhou Attend the Opening Ceremony of the Southeast Asia Cultural Festival in Shenzhen

Shenzhen, 17 May 2016 – Representatives from the Philippine Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General in Guangzhou attended the Opening Ceremony of the Southeast Asia Cultural Festival held at the Window of the World Park in Shenzhen on 15 May 2016.

The Opening Ceremony highlighted dance performances from the Philippines and Thailand and a puppet water show from Vietnam. Window of the World General Manager and Secretary of the Party Committee Cao Guo Wang, accompanied by officials from the Shenzhen Municipality Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration, welcomed Embassy representatives from the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Malaysia and the Guangzhou-based Consulates General of the Philippines and Thailand. The opening ceremony was followed by a park tour and lunch hosted by General Manager Cao.

Window of the World and Shenzhen Municipality Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration officials accompanied Embassy and Consulate General representatives during the tour of the park.

General Manager Cao expressed appreciation for the support of representatives from Southeast Asian countries and emphasized that the park is pleased to highlight the Southeast Asian section of the park and to showcase the individual country’s cultures. END
