The Philippine Embassy urges the Filipino community in China to donate to victims of typhoon WASHI (Sendong) which hit the Philippines on 16 December 2011, and has resulted in 1,453 deaths and 4,594 injuries (as of 27 December 2011). The total number of population affected has reached 113,336 families or 719,485 persons. The cost of damage to infrastructure, agriculture and school buildings amounted to PhP 1,143,671,975.00.
