Mr. Xu Ningning, Executive Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) Chinese Secretariat, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Erlinda F. Basilio on 15 April 2013. 

Ambassador Basilio welcomed Mr. Xu at the Embassy and expressed appreciation for CABC’s efforts and initiatives to enhance trade and economic relations between the Philippines and China.  The two officials exchanged views on ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation between our two countries, particularly in the areas of trade, investments, two-way product marketing, and China-ASEAN cooperation.

Mr. Xu informed the Ambassador that he will be travelling to the Philippines as part of the 60-member business delegation led by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Vice Chairman Yu Ping.  The CCPIT-led delegation will visit Manila and Cebu from 15 to 20 April 2013. 

Mr. Xu took the opportunity to personally express his felicitations on the Ambassador Basilio’s appointment as the Philippine envoy to China.  He conveyed that CABC looks forward to working closely with the ambassador in forging stronger ties between the Philippines and China.
