Ambassador Erlinda F. Basilio exchanges Notes on the turn-over of the chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee Beijing (ACB) with Malaysian Ambassador to China Iskandar Sarudin at the ACB Meeting on 18 January 2014.

Ambassador Erlinda F. Basilio has assumed as Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee Beijing (ACB), as she formally accepted the ACB Chairmanship during the ACB Meeting on 18 January 2014. The ACB is composed of the Ambassadors of ASEAN Embassies in Beijing.

 

The Philippine chairmanship will focus on promoting ASEAN awareness and raising the profile of ASEAN in China. As part of this objective, the ACB’s workplan during the Philippines’ chairmanship includes actively liaising with ASEAN and Chinese stakeholders towards further enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, culture and other areas.
