In celebration of the 10th anniversary of China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership, China Economic Net, in cooperation with the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC), is preparing a series called “Into ASEAN”, which aims to serve as a platform to promote trade and investment cooperation between China and ASEAN.  
 
China Economic Net conducted exclusive interviews with ambassadors and senior diplomats from the ASEAN embassies in Beijing, with the aim of providing the Chinese audience a better awareness and understanding of business and investment opportunities in ASEAN.  
 
Ms. Li Hongmei, Executive Deputy Director of the International News Division of China Economic Net, had an exclusive interview with H.E. Ambassador Erlinda F. Basilio on 24 May 2013 at the Embassy.   
 
At the interview, Ambassador Basilio and Ms. Li discussed about the general state of Philippines-China bilateral trade relations, the Philippines’ investment priorities and economic policies, as well as vast potential for commercial opportunities across various sectors and advantages of maximizing the benefits of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA), to further strengthen economic relations between the Philippines and China.  
 
Ambassador Basilio emphasized the importance of cultivating and enhancing the various facets of Philippines-China bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of commerce, investments, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and cultural cooperation.
 
Ambassador Basilio concluded the interview by expressing hope that the strong ties and cooperation existing between the Philippines and China would help both countries achieve their respective development goals and further enhance bilateral relations for the mutual benefit our two peoples.
