Ms Luan He  (R), editor of China Trade News, gives a copy of the Chinese broadsheet to Philippine Ambassador to China H.E. Erlinda F. Basilio (L).

On 13 November 2013, Ms. Luan He, editor of China Trade News, interviewed H.E. Ambassador Erlinda F. Basilio at the Embassy, where they discussed the current state of Philippine-China bilateral trade relations, the Philippines’ investment priorities, and commercial opportunities in various sectors such as information technology (I.T.), manufacturing, retail trading, real estate, and agribusiness.  

 

Ambassador Basilio also briefed Ms. Luan on the history of commercial ties between the Philippines and China; and the Philippine government’s continued encouragement to Filipino businessmen of Chinese descent to invest in China to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.  

 

Ambassador Basilio informed Ms. Luan that the Philippines welcomes Chinese investments in all sectors, especially in tourism infrastructure.   

 

Ambassador Basilio concluded the interview by extending an invitation to Ms. Luan to visit the Philippines and expressing hope that Chinese enterprises consider the Philippines as a priority investment destination.  

 

China Trade News, which is attached to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and has a subscription base of approximately 80,000 CCPIT-members, recently conducted exclusive interviews with ambassadors and senior diplomats from the ASEAN embassies in Beijing, with the aim of providing the Chinese business community a better understanding of trade and investment opportunities within ASEAN.
