29 April 2025, BEIJING – Highlighting opportunities in advanced manufacturing, automotive & New Energy Vehicles (NEV), new energy and services, and agriculture, the Philippine Embassy in Beijing and its Trade and Investment Center promoted the Philippines in a forum organized for German businesses operating in China.

The German Chamber of Commerce in North China and the AHK Greater China Diversification Desk, in collaboration with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Beijing conducted the exclusive business forum entitled “Market Insights & Business Opportunities in the Philippines” on 28 April 2025.

The German Chamber of Commerce in North China collaborated with the Philippine Embassy in mounting the business forum, with a view to offering opportunities for diversification.

Located at the heart of Asia, the Philippines serves as a gateway to the dynamic ASEAN market and global trade routes. Our robust infrastructure development—through the ‘Build, Better, More’ program—has modernized ports, highways, and logistics networks, ensuring seamless movement of goods and materials,” said Philippine Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz.

The Ambassador said these business-friendly reforms and initiatives for foreign investors will not only enhance ease of doing business, but will also allow full foreign ownership in key industries.

Commercial Counsellor Glenn Peñaranda said the Philippines values the robust and enduring partnership with Germany - now our leading trading and investment partner in the EU.

Counsellor Peñaranda said the Philippines aims to be a regional hub for smart and sustainable manufacturing and services, anchored on its geographic location, its abundant natural resources and the young, skilled labor force plus large domestic market, supported with market and investor friendly policies, including a recently issued enhanced incentives package through “Create More.”

The event was conducted with in-person participation of the guests and virtual participation via Microsoft Teams of a representative from the German Chamber of Commerce in Manila, and Christopher Zimmer, Executive Director of AHK Philippines.

Together, we can foster stronger trade relations, drive innovation, and create sustainable growth for both our nations. The Philippines is open for business—let’s build the future together!” Ambassador FlorCruz said. (30)
