The Philippine heritage city of Vigan (in the province of Ilocos Sur) is vying for a spot in the upcoming list of the “New 7 Wonder Cities of the World”. Vigan is the only Philippine city which has reached the finals phase.
The Philippines hopes to count on the support of everyone, by voting online at the following website:www.new7wonders.com/en/cities
Those who will participate in the online vote will be asked to register to the website by submitting an email address, or if already registered, to log-in, before their vote will be counted. Online voters are required to select seven (7) cities to be able to complete their votes.
Currently, there are 28 cities which have entered the final phase. According to the mechanics of the organization New7Wonders, there are three (3) voting phases until the final list of New 7 Wonder Cities is determined. In each phase, the 7 cities with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated, while the remaining cities will proceed to the next phase of voting. Below is the voting schedule.
“28-21 phase” (out of 28 finalists, the top 21 cities with the highest number of votes will proceed to the next voting phase): online voting period from 21 October 2013 until 07 July 2014
“21-14 phase” (out of 21 finalists, the top 14 cities with the highest number of votes will proceed to the next voting phase): online voting period from 07 July 2014 until 07 October 2014
“14-7 phase” (out of 14 finalists, the top 7 cities with the highest number of votes will be declared as the New 7 Wonder Cities): online voting period from 07 October 2014 until 07 December 2014
Final list of New 7 Wonder Cities of the World will be announced on 07 December 2014.
We hope to be able to count on the support of our friends all over the world so that the Philippine candidate Vigan can earn a spot in the final list of New 7 Wonder Cities of the World!
