Philippines, COSCO Shipping Strengthen Maritime Shipping Cooperation at the 4th Global Insights into Chinese Enterprises Series in Xiamen, Fujian Province

07 September 2023, XIAMEN, FUJIAN PROVINCE, CHINA – Philippine Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China H.E. Jaime A. FlorCruz attended the event entitled “Connecting the World: Digital and Green COSCO Shipping Around the Globe” held in Xiamen, Fujian Province on 07 September 2023.

In his remarks, Ambassador FlorCruz expressed hope for more Philippines-China economic engagements and partnerships, particularly in the shipping industry. He looked forward to more robust international trade and commerce for the Philippines because of the country’s strategic geographical position – a perfect hub for the freight and logistics market.

The event was part of the “4th session of the Global Insights into Chinese Enterprises Series”, which is a platform established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China to present outstanding Chinese enterprises to the diplomatic corps.

Diplomats from 15 countries, including the Philippines, Guyana and the Democratic Republic of Congo, participated during the forum as well as the shipping port visits organized by COSCO Shipping.

The forum was featured as one of the side events at this year’s 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held in Xiamen on 06-11 September 2023.
