The Philippine Embassy in Beijing welcomed Chinese pupils from Sichuan, Beijing and Tianjin and provided them with an introduction about the Philippines under its “Ni Hao, Philippines” cultural diplomacy program on 25 August 2023.

The International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (ICCIC), a non-governmental organization founded in Hong Kong in 1939, facilitated the visit as part of the students’ learning experience and exposure to the cultures and traditions of foreign countries.

Minister and Consul General Dinno Oblena delivered a welcome speech in which he underlined the continuing mission of the Philippine Embassy to foster mutual understanding between the Filipino and Chinese people through programs such as “Ni Hao, Philippines.”

The Philippine Embassy introduced to the students about Philippine geography, the country’s national symbols and its UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The students also practiced basic phrases in Filipino like “kumusta,” “magandang umaga” and “salamat” as part of the celebration of “Buwan ng Wika” (National Language Month).
