Beijing, China, 11 November 2022 – In partnership with Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Philippine Embassy in Beijing hosted a back-to-back screening of Jermaine Tulbo’s 2019 short film “Sumasaiyo” and Sigfreid Barros-Sanchez’s 2012 full-length film “Ang mga Kidnappers ni Ronnie Lazaro” at its chancery on 11 November 2022 as part of the annual “Diversity and Inclusion Film Festival” (DIFF).

It was attended by members of the diplomatic corps,the Filipino Community, Chinese contacts and movie enthusiasts. Local COVID-19 health protocols were observed throughout the event.

Through this film screening, the Embassy paid tribute to renowned Filipino values of close family ties and resilience amidst hardships. This was in line with 2022 DIFF’s theme of “Connection – the ties that bind us together.”

2022 DIFF ran from 1 to 22 November 2022 through the combined efforts of participating foreign diplomatic missions in Beijing.
