NOTICE OF REGISTRATION AND ELECTION TO ALL FILIPINO CITIZENS
The Philippine Embassy in Beijing informs the Filipino community in China that in its Minute Resolution 16-0496, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) requested all Posts to publish the Notice of Registration and Elections for overseas voting.
In this regard, the Philippine Embassy informs the Filipino community as follows:
Under Republic Act No. 9189 as amended by Republic Act No. 10590, all citizens of the Philippines abroad, who are not disqualified by law, at least eighteen (18) years of age on May 13, 2019, and who are registered overseas voters, may vote for Senators and Party-Lists Representatives.
All qualified Filipino citizens who are not registered overseas voters may file their applications for registration at the nearest Philippine Embassy/Consulate or other registration centers authorized by COMELEC.
To register, all applicants must personally appear at the Philippine Embassy, No. 23 Xiu Shui Beijie, Jianguomenwai, Beijing 100600, for biometrics capturing and bring the following requirements: (1) Photocopy of valid passport, (2) if dual citizen, a copy of oath of allegiance or proof of Philippine citizenship; or (3) for seamen, a copy of seaman’s book.
Filing of applications for registration shall be from December 1, 2016 to October 31, 2018.
The 30-day voting period for the 2019 Philippine National Elections will commence on April 13, 2019 until May 13, 2019 at the Philippine Embassy in Beijing. Voting procedures and time of voting will be announced in due course.
