NON-ACCEPTANCE OF NON-MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS FOR

PHILIPPINE VISA APPLICATIONS STARTING 1^ST OCTOBER 2016

The Philippine Embassy in Beijing informs the public that it shall cease acceptance of non-machine readable passports/travel documents from all visa applicants effective 01 October 2016 in view of the global phasing out of all non-machine readable passports set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This directive applies to all types of passports including ordinary, official, diplomatic and/or service documents, except for temporary travel documents designed for emergency situations as per ICAO guidelines.

In connection with this, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) shall no longer allow the entry of foreign nationals holding non-machine readable passports/travel documents in all Philippine international airports and seaports by the 1^st quarter of 2017.

将不再接受非机读护照

菲律宾驻华大使馆告知公众，鉴于国际民航组织(ICAO)规定在全球范围内淘汰所有非机读护照，自2016年10月1日起，本使馆将停止接受所有签证申请人的非机读护照/旅行证件。此项指示适用于除根据ICAO准则为紧急情况设计的临时旅行文件以外所有类型的护照，包括普通、公务、外交护照和业务文件。

因此，截止2017年1月前，菲律宾移民局(BI)在菲律宾各国际机场和港口不再允许持有非机读护照/旅行证件的外国公民入境。
