In recognition of the contribution of seafarers to the world economy and the global society, as well as the risks and personal costs in fulfillment of their work, the Philippines joins the rest of the world in commemorating the Day of the Seafarer, today, 25 June 2022.
This year's theme, "Your voyage - then and now, share your journey", celebrates the important contribution of seafarers, and Filipino seafarers in particular, to the global supply chains, especially at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual, global event coordinated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) also aims to highlight the importance of upholding and protecting the human rights and interests of seafarers.
The Philippine Embassy in Beijing, China joins the international community in expressing appreciation to the hardwork and dedication of every Filipino seafarer to serve the global community. Mabuhay ang Pilipinong mandaragat! 🇵🇭🛳
