To date, there has never been any suspension by the Chinese Government of the entry of bananas from the Philippines, for as long as these pass the food and safety standards and requirements of the People’s Republic of China. Therefore, bananas from the Philippines continue to be sold in China.
Bananas from the Philippines-- like all fruits, vegetables and other food items imported from other countries—must first meet the sanitary and phytosanitary requirements set by the Chinese Government before being allowed entry into China.
The Philippine Government continues to work closely with Chinese Government in ensuring that all bananas and other fruit exports from the Philippines meet the standards of the Chinese Government.
